Are you journalist material? Part 1

Self assesing if you’re journalist material can save you time in thinking about your future career in journalism.

Some of us dream of becoming a sports journalist, a television producer, a television series writer, a fashion journalist, a weather journalist/presenter, a news camera man, a foreign correspondent, etc, without having a taste of the industry.

You might just have finished uni and looking for a kick start in journalism or come from a complete different industry, and needing a change of career.

However, it’s frustrating once you start working in journalism and it fails to live up to your expectations.

Do you have what it takes to be the next Clark Kent or Lois Lane?

I believe there are some attributes you must or aim to have to be a journalist. While you may not tick all of them right now, your willingness to improve the lack of certain skills, or like what you hate or not comfortable with, is a sign that you can-do this job.

Take a look at the 8 main attributes a good journalist should have in the Part 2 section.
